Date: Thursday, November 24, 2022 is Thanksgiving!

Location: Elkhart Health & Aquatics, 200 East Jackson, Elkhart, IN.

8:20 am Gather outside where you can see and hear Monster Message!

8:30 am 10K Start Line up on Jackson Blvd- spread out by pace group- Yellow signs

8:34 am “Turkey rabbit” is released

8:35 am 5K RUN start – spread out by pace group- you will follow green signs

8:37 am 5K Walk start- you will follow green signs

8:40 am One Mile Walk

Packet pickup and onsite registration

Elkhart Health & Aquatics Center- Community Side, 200 East Jackson Blvd., Elkhart IN.

As you face the building, enter on the far right side (not the side with the gym equipment)

Happily, we will be at the Elkhart Health & Aquatics, 200 East Jackson in 2022. There is plenty of parking and the race starting line will be on Jackson and Clark. The start line is Jackson Blvd & Clark.)

We will have a chip start, so for those who purchase timing chips and want to keep track of their times, you chip time begins when you cross the mat, not when the “gun” goes off.

We encourage people to spread out and allow the faster runners towards the front of the line. We will have pace signs, and if you start with your pace, this will help a great deal! We strongly encourage runners to wear masks at the start, put on your wrist once you get going, and replace when you finish to get refreshments. Please don’t throw masks down at the start, it might be a trip hazard at the finish line.

The loop course will be the same as last year. As always, if you are walking or running with a group- please make sure there is room for others to pass. The two distances separate on and then re-merge on Strong Avenue @ Pleasant.

AWARDS

NOTE: There is NO official awards ceremony, and no age group awards. However if you choose to be chip-timed, there are awards for the top three male and female finishers, which we will mail to you in addition to a free entry to the race next year. Every participant gets a finisher medal.

Every participant will get a finisher award at the end of the race. Simply go through the finisher chute and keep moving to the refreshment area.

$25 cash for the first male and female to “Catch the Turkey” in the 5K. [Not a real turkey, there is a person dressed up who will get a head start. This is on the honor system. You don’t have to touch our turkey rabbit, just pass it.]

COURSE VOLUNTEERS

Yes. We need volunteers! You can volunteer AND run on the day. We need help on Monday to sort and stuff group packets and virtual packets. We also need help for packet pickup at Elkhart Health & Aquatics on Wednesday, November 23 from Noon – 7pm (you can pick the time you are available).
